Source: The Information Sachin Katti, vice president of compute strategy at OpenAI, said Wednesday he was leaving the role on November 15 after about a year at OpenAI. Katti, who joined OpenAI after four years at Intel, announced that he would be “moving on to build something new” in a post on X.

OpenAI’s release last Tuesday of more than 300 math results it says an internal model solved has sparked concern among some of the world’s leading cryptographers, or experts in encoding information to keep it private and secure. They worry that AI’s continued math advances could find new algorithms that make our current methods of protecting information on encrypted services, from online payments to messaging platforms like WhatsApp, easier to crack.
