Social media fasts have never really left me feeling unplugged. Earlier this year, I started trying to switch off from the internet as much as possible. This is why. Maybe the warning signs were there from the very beginning. I was born in 1992, which if I’m right puts me at pretty much the same age as the world wide web. So my first memories of the internet feel quaint, sweet, even, especially compared with what’s probably the norm nowadays.
