PORTLAND, OR – Portland is preparing for the first significant stretch of hot weather of the year, and city officials are encouraging residents to take steps to stay cool and safe. Portland Parks & Recreation has opened splash pads and water play fountains across the city to help residents beat the heat. PORTLAND, OR – Oregon homeowners who fell behind on mortgage payments because of financial hardships tied to the COVID-19 pandemic have until June 15 to apply for state assistance before the program closes to new applicants. Oregon Housing and Community Services announced that its Homeowner Assistance Fund program will stop accepting new applications at 8 a.m. June 15 as available funding nears exhaustion.

PORTLAND, OR – Portland is expanding its network of traffic safety cameras as part of its Vision Zero effort to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries, according to the Portland Bureau of Transportation. The bureau says more than 30 speed and intersection safety cameras are now operating across the city’s High Crash Network, with additional locations expected to come online soon.
