Prior to introducing Tennessee state Sen. J. Adam Lowe (R-Calhoun) to members of the Rotary Club of Cleveland during their luncheon on Tuesday, Rotarian Broderick Hicks recounted how Lowe had helped him “fight the bureaucracy” in Nashville.

Earlier this month, a 1920s-era, sepia-toned photograph appeared on a Cleveland history Facebook page, Cleveland and TN History, that depicted Hardwick Woolen Mills employees momentarily glancing up from their sewing machines long enough to have a group portrait snapped before resuming work. And standing to the left of the photo is a dark-haired man who not only supervised the workers but also designed the men’s suits and coats they stitched each day. The man’s name was Giovanni Fabiani.

The City of Cleveland has entered into a non-binding agreement with local restaurateur Greg Hicks to open an eatery in the former Cherokee Hotel, which the city is currently restoring to serve as the next city hall. The document was approved by the Cleveland City Council during its Monday voting session last week.
