To keep pace with the speed of AI code generation and vulnerability scanning, enterprises need an AI control plane. In April 2026, GitHub’s CEO reported that weekly volume had climbed from 1 billion in 2025 to roughly 275 million commits, putting the platform on pace for 14 billion commits by year-end: a 14x jump in a single year. How is this exponential growth possible? Agentic coding.

AI agents are deeply embedded in real enterprise workflows; generating content, orchestrating processes, writing production code. And with each new commit and each new workflow comes new potential risks, all moving faster than humans can review. That’s why Gartner’s recent recognition of “guardian agents” as an emerging category is an important step forward for cybersecurity, across all disciplines and areas of focus.

Anthropic’s release of Claude Code Security is an important milestone in security scanning: LLM-based SAST to detect vulnerabilities in code, and AI-generated remediation guidance. The Anthropic announcement is most notable for “cutting out the middleware” – doing what many experimental startups are doing with AI code-scanning capabilities, natively. That’s meaningful progress.
