Tina Hesman Saey is a scientist-turned-science-journalist who covers molecular biology for Science News magazine. She grew up in Bladen, Nebraska. Hers was the last class to graduate from Bladen Public High School before the school consolidated with one from a neighboring town. She went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she majored in biology and graduated with honors. What was your first job as a journalist?

My first paying journalism gig was an internship at the Dallas Morning News, but my 1st real job was at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
