Identification of cucurbitacins and assembly of a draft genome for Aquilaria agallocha
The strain of A. agallocha used in this study was originally derived from Myanmar and domesticated in Taiwan, after import. In vitro materials from this strain were analyzed using LC-ESI-MS where the presence of cucurbitacin I and E were detected (Additional file 1: Figures S1 and S2 respectively). After identification, in vitro callus, shoot and plant materials were analyzed for cucurbitacin E and I content (Figure 1a) where it was seen to be most abundant in in vitro plant.
