DANVILLE – The Golden Nugget Casino is one big step closer to calling Danville home. On Thursday morning, all four members of the Illinois Gaming Commission voted “yes” to allow Danville Development to move forward with its plans to build and open a new casino. Danville’s casino application is the last one in the state to clear its suitability hearing following the 2019 gaming expansion bill that allowed for 6 new casino licenses to be issued in Illinois.

DANVILLE – When a Vermilion county woman tried to take her dog to the vet on Thursday, the normally short trip took a lot longer on a snow-packed highway. After hearing her German Shepherd Juno whine in pain, dog owner Melissa Bolin loaded up the sick pup and her sister-in-law Aimee in her vehicle. They drove west on I-74 to the only veterinary clinic that was open in the village of Saint Joseph.
