Forty-six teams, including two from K-State Salina, will take to the sky the 49th Air Race Classic takes off from St. Louis on Tuesday. This annual Air Race Classic competition brings together female pilots from across the country to race approximately 2,400 miles through 14 states. Teams consisting of at least two female pilots will complete the course, flying normally aspirated, piston-powered airplanes in visual flight conditions during daylight hours.

Rollings Hills Zoo invites all dads out on Sunday, rain or shine. The organization will host its annual car show no matter the weather. Director of Development & Marketing Linda Henderson tells KSAL News because of anticiapted rain prior to the show, it will be held in the parking lot. Those interested in participating in the car show who have not pre-registered can still so son on Sunday. Registration and packet pickup will be at the  Garage Automotive Museum, 134 4th Street, from Salina 8 – 9 AM.

Thunderstorms are expected to track across much of Kansas late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. According to the National Weather Service, the primary threats will be damaging wind, large hail, and flooding Storms are anticipated mainly after 9 PM, although a few isolated severe storms can’t be ruled out anytime after 4-5 PM. A flood watch is now in effect for parts of central and eastern Kansas through Sunday morning.
