It’s been 12 months since the third-generation Audi Q5 medium-sized SUV lobbed Down Under – regular TFSI petrol and TDI diesel variants – with what we generally called a “carefully and conservatively modernised” update to Ingolstadt’s global volume seller. The go-faster SQ5 arrived too, with rebooted turbo-petrol V6 power replacing the old oiler.

Huge changes coming to popular EV: BYD Atto 3 Evo goes 800V and RWD to fight Kia EV3, MG S5 and Jaecoo J5

BYD has updated its strong-selling Atto 3 crossover, and the changes for the Atto 3 ‘Evo’ are much more extensive than they appear. The base Atto 3 Dynamic (now $41,990 before on-roads, up $2000) inherits the MY25 Atto 3 Premium’s drivetrain. A 60.5kWh battery delivers a claimed range of 420km (WLTP), and a front-wheel-drive motor puts out 150kW and 310Nm. The new Premium ($46,990 before on-road costs, also up $2000), however, is almost a whole new car underneath.
