On 2 March 2026 the UK MoD contracted Leonardo for 23 AW149 helicopters under its New Medium Helicopter programme. (UK MoD/Crown Copyright) Orders for Leonardo's AW149 medium helicopter and M-346 aircraft contributed to its first half 2026 results, alongside demand for air-defence equipment. Leonardo recorded EUR16.3 billion (USD18.6 billion) in new orders in H1 2026, up from EUR11.2 billion in the corresponding period in 2025.
