Kelp disappearance led to feed fish and salmon declines - reader - Comox Valley Record
Dear Editor: This letter is written in support of recent letters to the editor submitted by Norma Janes and Neil Crouch. Both were in response to the article on A Lost Kelp Forest. Our family lived next to the kelp forest at Little River that Mr. Crouch refers to. And, we can corroborate that this forest was harvested in the 1970s. As regular fishers in the area, our anecdotal experience was as follows.
New Member from Wisconsin
Although I am newly signed up on this forum I have followed it for a while. We are about 45 minutes north of Green Bay and have been back in the area for a year. We lived in the west for the past 40 years and I am not thrilled being a flat lander, but we are finding new things to do. Was a member of a fantastic gun club for several years with rifle, pistol, archery and trap and unfortunately have nothing like that near our location.

County trio heading to state
EVANSVILLE — Lincoln’s senior throwers Hayden Patton and Daniel Nash showed their muscle, and South Knox junior Sam Singleton exhibited his hops, qualifying for the track State Finals at the Evansville Central Regional on Thursday. Competitors had to place in the top three to advance to next Saturday’s state meet in Bloomington. Patton claimed the runner-up spot in the discus as did Singleton in the long jump. Nash placed third in the shot put.
South Knox to keep Farris as boys coach
Jim Farris was thrust into a tough task, taking his first varsity boys basketball coaching position a little over a week before the start of practice. But the longtime South Knox assistant adjusted to his new, more-prominent role quickly. While he was named interim coach, it didn't take long to feel like that title didn't fit Farris. The tag was officially removed Tuesday. The South Knox school board approved Farris' hiring as the permanent boys basketball coach for at least the next two seasons.

Spartans, Warriors sprint to finish line
South Knox and North Knox both face busy ends to their boys basketball regular seasons, each playing three games in six days, with five of the six contests against teams with winning records. The Spartans (8-12, 4-3 Blue Chip Conference) play at Washington (11-8) at 6 p.m. (junior varsity tipoff) today, entertain Pike Central (11-10) for senior night at 6 p.m. Tuesday before ending the regular season with a league date at Wood Memorial (11-9, 3-3) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Shots-led Patriots roar
Frosh scores 30 in rout over WC Freshman Brody Shots, like all of his Rivet teammates, wasn’t alive the last time Washington Catholic defeated the Patriots. The muscular 5-10 forward made sure it wasn’t going to happen on his clock Friday at Ralph Holscher Gym. Shots powered his way to 30 points and 16 rebounds, and Rivet kept the Cardinals scoreless for nearly 10 minutes in rolling to a 66-36 Blue Chip Conference boys basketball win.
Salukis can't remove lid from basket
BRIDGEPORT, Ill. — Red Hill's boys basketball team did several things about as well as it could against bigger and stronger Olney in the Lawrence County Capital Classic on Friday, but it lacked in the most important area — making shots. The Tigers hounding man-to-man defense spooked the Salukis throughout and they controlled play in a 49-20 win in the opening game at the Bridgeport site.

Draw not as easy at it looks for Warriors
At first glance, it appeared that North Knox's football team received a dream sectional draw, being on the opposite end of the bracket from No. 5 Linton and No. 7 Evansville Mater Dei. But a further study of it shows that the Warriors (7-2) can't just put it in cruise control and perhaps face one of those ranked teams in the Class 2A, Sectional 40 final. North Knox has a record advantage along with home field when it entertains South Spencer (4-5) at 7:30 p.m. today in the opening round.
Spartans know the routine
When South Knox added the Brown County Invitational this season, it was to prepare them for Saturday's semistate on the same course. The experiment may or may not pay results. The semistate has often been the stopping line for county harriers, as several of the top runners in the state are in the field. Teams have to get in the top six out of 20 to advance to next Saturday's State Finals. Individual runners have to be in the top-10 among non-advancing teams.

I deleted tweet with my 270 Electoral Vote Map. Many didn't understand what was going on & why it looked different than RCP. I put the states in litigation into the "toss up" color to illustrate what the media claims vs coming court rulings. Here is the RCP Map: Notice that NC is not Red. It was called for Trump Today. That's + 15 EC Votes for Trump.
