Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. On my journalism diploma at Cardiff University in the 1990s much of our training was done on typewriters.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Everything.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Nope, I was too busy in a band - late developer!

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

A special report for Computer Arts magazine on the state of mental health amongst the graphic design profession.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

We want you to spend a weekend reviewing the best pubs in Dublin.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

"Please review our erectile dysfunction pills."

What's your favorite drink?

Japanese Shōchū. (Not being pretentious; I just used to live there and got the taste.)

SFX magazine.
