What the data say about young people and gun violence
by Tom Woods, Annie E. Casey Foundation Public conversations about young people and gun violence can be shaped by headlines, individual incidents and assumptions about youth crime. A new data dashboard offers another way to understand the issue: looking at the trends. The Youth and Gun Violence Explorer, developed by Empact Solutions with support from the Annie E.
Even Schoolteachers Are “Racist” Now?
by Tom Woods, Lew Rockwell: Here’s a recent item from Reuters you’ll find interesting: “The US Education Department has issued guidance urging schools to stop what it calls ‘racial balancing’ in student discipline policies, prompting concerns that the Trump administration is making it harder to address longstanding racial disparities in school discipline.” Ah yes, “racial disparities,” which are always presumed to have their origins in wickedness and hate, and which must be stamped out,...
They’re Getting Revenge, Starting Today
by Tom Woods, Lew Rockwell: I absolutely insist to you: I really am trying to stop writing about this topic. But too much insanity keeps breaking out, and I have no choice but to comment on it.
FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN
by Tom Woods, The Burning Platform: The Boomers of Kentucky embarrassed the United States on the world stage today. Around the world, people genuinely wondered: can an American politician survive who doesn’t repeat low-IQ platitudes about Israel and the Middle East? The Boomers — with their heterodox Christianity and FOX News propaganda — gave their answer.
What Trump Should Have Said
The Trump posts about Rand Paul and Thomas Massie just keep coming, including one saying the Republican Party is more unified than ever before with the exception of these terrible dissidents. J.D. Vance evidently doesn’t feel the same, lashing out today at the “beltway GOP”: After four years of house prices doubling (and in some areas, tripling) many young people feel priced out of the American Dream of homeownership.
Tom Woods: The COVID Lessons We Can't Forget
Five years to the day after President Donald Trump declared a national emergency, what are the lessons of the COVID-19 pandemic? Just asking questions. Tom Woods joins us today. He's a historian, host of The Tom Woods Show, and author of many books, including Diary of a Psychosis: How Public Health Disgraced Itself During COVID Mania, which has a foreword written by the new National Institutes of Health Director Jay Bhattacharya.
The Health Sector Is in a Panic
by Tom Woods, Lew Rockwell: From the Tom Woods Letter: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) created a panic this week when it announced a pause in “study sections.” Study sections, says Vinay Prasad, are “groups of mediocre scientists who decide which grants are funded.” Prasad, a professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of California, San Francisco, is what I would describe as a moderate in the currently raging debates on various important health questions — he would...

Online Retailers Frustrated That FTC Fake-Review Ban Would Give Tech Giants a Pass
A hearing Tuesday on the Federal Trade Commission’s proposed rule to crack down on fake online reviews regurgitated previous concerns that it targets individual businesses rather than third-party platforms and tech companies that profit from reviews—real or fake. The hearing appeared to be little more than a formality, with the FTC inviting only three speakers and offering no indication on whether the proposed rule—rolled out last June—might be modified or when it could be adopted.

Two Mallorca boys break into Love Island Australia villa and chat to the contestants
Caption: LOVE STRUCK: The boys would have had plenty of distractions in the villa. TWO local boys in Mallorca have reportedly snuck into the villa where Love Island Australia is filming, and chatted with some of the singles there. Further details of the incident are unclear, but it would be enough the make even the programme’s makers blush. The Channel Nine show has a Mature Adult (MA) rating, meaning adult content can be broadcast, including nudity.
How Narcotics are Flooding Africa
In April 2014, an Australian warship intercepted a sailboat roughly 30 nautical miles off the Kenyan coast. Aboard the ship was more than a ton of heroin, worth an estimated $260 million. The haul was approximately equal to the entire amount of heroin intercepted in East Africa’s waters between 1990 and 2009. Later that same year, Kenyan naval forces boarded a vessel from Pakistan carrying nearly 1,800 pounds of heroin.

Woman has baby. Media has kittens
Woman has baby. Media has kittens By Tom Woods Not even a day old, and they're already knocking the kid's confidence. A widely circulated story in the UK this week tells us that the Royal Baby is not as popular on Twitter as the Pope, Barack Obama, Usain Bolt or Andy Murray.
How To Handle the Media
From the Tom Woods Letter: Today I want to share with you an example of how to handle the media. Now brace yourself, because it involves Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, and most people have lost their minds when it comes to DeSantis. I am perfectly aware of every DeSantis demerit, so resist the urge to tell me off. The fact is, the man knows how to deal with the media. You’d have to be crazy to deny that. He employs a crucial combination: firmness, and knowledge. He always knows more than they do.
