A brief history of AMVETS Post 11 women commanders

Only two women have held the position of commander for the local AMVETS Post 11. Betty J. Wood was elected Commander of the Duncan AMVETS Post 11 in 1994, and reelected in 1996. She held the office until her death in December 2003. Marlow Council passes FY27 budget

A federal holiday stalled the Marlow public budget hearing at the end of May for the city council, but not so much it affected the outcome of the approval in June. City manager Jason McPherson said the council was ready to hold the hearing and pass the budget on the May 26 agenda, but because of publication notice that couldn’t happen. The notice had to be held until the May 21 paper, and during the May 12 meeting, it was advised to delay the hearing.
