Abstract Broadband echosounders are used by the plankton and fisheries acoustics community to assess distribution, abundance and behaviour of fish and larger zooplankton. Multiple calibrated echosounders can be combined to measure acoustic backscatter across a wide frequency range. This publication presents several example datasets that showcase the diverse applications of broadband echosounders from different platforms like ships, net-pens and towed bodies.
