The King is dead. Long live the King. I have taught cases to business school students for over three decades. I know the power of the case method for teaching management in all its complexity — strategy, leadership, judgment, decision-making. At Ivey, where we have practiced case teaching since 1922, it is not one pedagogy among many. It is the pedagogy. It built the school and in many ways it defines our graduates. I’ll add: the case method has been good to me.
