This is the most significant traditional festival in the Mekong Delta region, held annually from the 22nd to the 27th of the fourth lunar month. Every year, the festival attracts a large number of visitors from within and outside the province, as well as international tourists, who come to learn about the culture of worshipping the Mother Goddess.

According to a report from the Provincial Department of Health , in the first three months of 2026, the number of dengue fever cases was 1,679, a 3.9-fold increase compared to the same period in 2025 (434 cases). Among these, communes and wards experienced increases exceeding 200%, such as Rach Gia, Long Xuyen, and Tinh Bien wards, and Chau Phu, Vinh Thuan, An Chau, and Thoai Son communes. To date, the province has recorded 537 outbreaks.

The Sam Mountain National Tourist Area in Vinh Te Ward hosts the annual Ba Chua Xu Festival at Sam Mountain, a typical cultural and spiritual activity of the people of southern Viet Nam. This is the largest spiritual festival in the southern region. Each festival season attracts more than four million pilgrims and tourists from across the country and abroad who come to explore local customs and the Mother Goddess worship tradition.
