The Patriots won six Super Bowls under Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, but it was really two distinct teams. You had the Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX crew of Richard Seymour, Teddy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel and Deion Branch. Then there was the XLIX, LI, LIII crew of Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and Vince Wilfork. There was a large gap in between where they didn’t win anything. The Chiefs are the first two-time defending champs to even make it back to the Super Bowl.

Say what you will, Patrick Mahomes is destroying Tom Brady’s record pace

I have no idea if Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are ever going to achieve what Tom Brady did with the Patriots, and then the Buccaneers, but Mahomes is obliterating the pace. Mahomes, who is 29 years old, now has 89 career regular season wins. At that same age, Brady had 70. Mahomes has 17 playoff wins. At 29, Brady had 12. Mahomes is now going to his fifth Super Bowl and looking for his fourth ring. Brady made it to three Super Bowls by 29 and won all three.

Cowboys’ firing of Mike McCarthy is football mismanagement 101

This is another example of the Cowboys not knowing how to do business. It is perpetual. All along, Jerry Jones was floating the idea that it’s not out of the question to bring Mike McCarthy back because of Dallas’ injuries and what he did the season before. Then why didn’t you bring him back? If you weren’t going to bring him back, why’d you wait so long? Because now, you lost out on the opportunity to request interviews for the Ben Johnsons and Aaron Glenns of the world.
