Tour a Carefully Curated Sag Harbor Rowhouse
A fashion aesthete and bon vivant carves out his own piece of history out East. With his heavenly white mane, Wayne Mahler’s 12-year-old Turkish Van cat, King Henry, is impossibly regal as he greets guests to his owner’s home in Sag Harbor Village. But visitors soon realize that it is Mahler who has had the nine lives. His rowhouse, originally built in 1895 for employees of the former Bulova Watchcase Factory, is a small repository for a life well-lived.
Luxury dog houses and accessories for your pampered pooches
It's time to meet our first spoiled pack of pups. Say hi to Robbie Timmers, a devoted dog owner living in Thailand. He shelled out close to £8,000 ($10k) to build a two-storey mansion for his canine brood. Here's How You Should Be Storing (and Styling) Your Wine Collection, According to Pros
Whether you’re an oenophile with a collection fit for a Tuscan vineyard or your entire vino vocab begins and ends with the word oaky, the right wine storage setup is a smart investment. Making a Rundown House Liveable in Just 6 Months
My fiancee, Merle, and I wanted an old house and found ourselves drawn to Newburgh, New York, where the streets are lined with Victorian mansions. An 1887 Queen Anne, encased in asphalt shingles but with its grand octagonal tower intact, stood out from the crowd. We joked that with five bedrooms, two baths, four fireplaces, and about 2,200 square feet, it was big enough to ride our bikes around in. At $46,000, it seemed like an unbelievable deal. We knew it needed work.

The One Thing to Know Before Buying a Front-Loading Washing Machine
There are a lot of reasons to opt for front-loading machines, let us name a few. The flexibility for stacking them. The ease of pulling items out the front of the washer and straight into the front of the dryer. And for us five-foot-tall folks, there’s less risk of toppling in yourself. Front-loading machines are also known for being more efficient than top-loaders.
The perfectly flexible guest room
Hosting houseguests can be a challenge under the best of circumstances. Having a well-designed, private space for them is a huge help, but many homeowners don’t have a dedicated room just for that. “Realistically, most people don’t have guests every week,” says interior designer Betsy Burnham, founder of Burnham Design in Los Angeles, so many create hybrid guest room/home office spaces, or blend a guest room with a playroom or crafting room.

A Creative Couple Transforms Their Sag Harbor Home
Even people who know the Hamptons by heart, even longtime residents of Sag Harbor, have occasionally never heard of Redwood. How dreamy to imagine an undiscovered neighborhood among the East End’s well-trod byways, an extra bend in the road that would throw a Range Rover’s GPS for a loop. Part of Sag Harbor proper, Redwood is a triangular-shaped extension—an island, really—accessible only via a small bridge (or by boat) on the western stretch of town.
