So here we are everybody, Bob Dylan’s fourth Album. Can’t believe we’ve made it this far, can you? Of course you can’t! Anyway, this is a unique album in Dylan’s catalog, as it marks a transition point for Dylan. Previously, he had been known for his topical songs. Finger-pointing songs, as he calls them. Songs about social change and social events happening in the turbulent time of the 1960’s. Some of that still remains, but it’s a lot more vague on this album.

Readers, let us delve together into Bob Dylan’s third, and, in my not so humble opinion, finest album. This album builds on the momentum from his last release, the freewheelin Bob Dylan, covering many of the same things. We are yet again dazzled by Dylan’s storytelling prowess. From protest music, to story songs, to good old fashioned love songs, Dylan delivers whole-heartedly on this album, making his mark by imbuing each song with a universality that goes beyond the mere themes of each song.

Hello readers! Today, I’m hoisting upon you my dubiously-informed, millennial take on Bob Dylan’s first album. This album marks the catalyst of what this legendary singer-songwriter would become later on. With its mix of traditional as well as self-penned material, this is a showcase into Dylan’s roots. I personally find this album fascinating for its simplicity.
