Last Fall I surveyed my credit card benefits to figure out if any of the perks would expire at the end of the year. I came to realize that I had a lot of use-or-lose benefits that could nearly fund an entire trip to the Portuguese Azores, so I flew there and stayed for five nights. That trip opened my eyes to the full value of the American Express Hilton Aspire Card. When I arrived in the Azores, I didn’t have two of my five nights booked for a stay anywhere.

I've been reading Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein and enjoying much more than I thought I would when I read the title. It's about the importance of broad knowledge over a wide range of domains. One very interesting section discussed research done by Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) on best methods for forecasting events in the future based off current intelligence.
