The Urban95 Academy leadership programme, an executive education programme for city teams, first launched in 2021 by LSE Cities and the Van Leer Foundation, will now reach and support a growing network of urban leaders throughout Africa. This expansion is being delivered through a partnership with the African Centre for Cities (ACC) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

The African Centre for Cities (ACC) reiterates the call by the University of Cape Town’s Council to uphold the values of ubuntu, equality and the rule of law, and to reject acts of xenophobia and violence. This comes in light of the recent xenophobic tensions that flared up in parts of South Africa The ACC firmly believes that African urban challenges can only be addressed collectively by bringing together diverse voices from across the continent.

The African Centre for Cities (ACC) invites applications for a full-time Project Coordinator (City Hall Fellowship) for a 12-month contract (approximately June 2026 -June 2027) with the possibility of renewal. We are looking for candidates to work as part of the African Mayoral Leadership Initiative (AMALI) Data Programme team (see amalicities.africa) located within the African Centre for Cities (ACC) at the University of Cape Town in Cape Town, South Africa.
