Due to the rapid progression of life-threatening lung involvement, early diagnosis and initiation of treatment with the identification of anti-MDA5 antibodies is necessary. Janus kinase inhibitors, plasmapheresis, and triple immunosuppressive therapy with glucocorticoids, calcineurin inhibitors, and intravenous cyclophosphamide are effective. Careful monitoring of infection and adverse events during intensive immunosuppressive treatments are necessary.
