Texas Tech Athletics announced several football game themes for its 2026 home slate at Jones AT&T Stadium on Thursday. The Red Raiders will open their themed schedule with a celebration of their 2025 Big 12 Championship on Sept. 5 and will close the themes out with senior day on Thanksgiving against Texas Christian University on Nov. 26. Following the celebration, Tech will host a sold-out crowd against Sam Houston State University on Sept. 26 for the program’s annual Agriculture Game.

Texas Tech head coach Wes Kittley and junior high jumper Temitope Adeshina were named the USTFCCCA Mountain Region Coach of the Year and Women's Field Athlete of the Year, respectively, the organization announced in a press release Thursday. The announcement follows Adeshina’s third NCAA title in the high jump on Saturday, which capped off her undefeated season and completed her sweep of the NCAA indoor and outdoor titles.

Texas Tech University ranked the No. 123 best university in the U.S and the No. 562 in the world, according to the 2026-27 Best Global Universities ranking from the U.S News & World Report released Tuesday. In comparison to last year’s ranking, Tech rose six spots globally and one domestically. Along with the university’s overall ranking, three individual subjects at Tech saw a rise in their global rank from 2025.
