Lake Country council to vote on business park in Glenmore area - Lake Country Calendar

The Lake Country Business Park is taking its next steps in being realized, as council will soon vote on whether or not to rezone the area. The business park is a plan to rezone 81 hectares of underutilized land in what was formerly known as the Glenmore Industrial Lands, and transform the area into a hub for various industries. Council will be giving its first and second deliberations on the matter on Tuesday, July 7.

Brunswick Creek fire grows to over 1,200 hectares - Salmon Arm Observer

The Brunswick Creek wildfire north of Boston Bar has ballooned in size since its last listing, with the blaze now reaching 1,230 hectares in size. BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) updated the size of the fire at 1:16 p.m. on Sunday July 5. Earlier on the morning of July 5, multiple evacuation orders were issued from the Fraser Valley Regional District and the Boothroyd Indian Band. At the time, the fire was listed at 100 hectares. The Brunswick Creek wildfire was first reported on July 2.

Spot fire quickly held at Manning Park, south of Princeton - Hope Standard

A small wildfire south of Princeton is being downgraded from “out-of-control” to “held.” According to the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), the spot fire was discovered early on Sunday, July 5. At around 8:30 a.m., the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen wrote on Facebook that they were aware of the fire and no action was required. The blaze grew to 0.009 hectares in size before it was classified as “being held” by the BCWS, meaning the flames will likely stay within its current perimeter.
