(WLNS) – The Grass Lake softball team is one step closer to defending its Div. 3 State Championship after earning a 4-3 comeback win over Ottawa Lake Whiteford in the state quarterfinals Tuesday. Down by a pair of runs heading into the top of the seventh, the Warriors made their comeback with patience at the plate and good reads on the basepaths.

Mason tops Lansing Catholic to win its first Diamond Classic Championship Original

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Mason earned a 5-2 win over Lansing Catholic on Monday night to secure the program’s first-ever Diamond Classic Championship. Junior Gerrit Koot earned the Pat O’Keefe Most Outstanding Player award for the tournament. Koot was the winning pitcher in both the semifinal and championship games. He was also 5-for-10 at the plate with two RBI. Koot tossed 5.1 innings and allowed one run on seven hits with two strikeouts in Monday’s championship.
