1. Introduction Radiotherapy is a cornerstone of clinical management of various malignancies, such as brain tumours, certain gastrointestinal malignancies, prostate cancer, and head and neck carcinomas. Typically, radiotherapy is delivered using a linear accelerator (LINAC) producing x-ray photons or electron beams. Radiotherapy is often administered with a curative intention, aiming to administer as high dose as possible to tumor tissue while sparing surrounding healthy tissue.
