Human lung adenocarcinoma cell line, A549 and human monocytic leukemia cell line, THP-1 used in the study were purchased from National Centre for Cell Science, Pune, India. Cell line authentication at the repository was carried out by short tandem repeat (STR) profiling. A549 and THP-1 cells were maintained in DMEM and RPMI‐1640 respectively supplemented with 10% FBS and 100 U/ml penicillin. Cells were cultured under 5% CO2 and 37 °C temperature [10].
