The head of Gila County's health and emergency services agency is scheduled to stand trial early next year in Minnesota on charges of abusing his two stepchildren, according to court documents. Joshua Beck, 40, is charged with two counts of assault and two counts of endangering a child, according to court records in Cook County, Minnesota. His trial is scheduled to start on Jan. 29. Beck was the Cook County Health and Humans Services director in Minnesota before he resigned on July 21.
A 3-year-old boy was in serious condition Sunday after riding his tricycle into a pool, according to the Chandler Fire, Health and Medical Department. The boy was playing at his grandmother's house near Dobson and Ocotillo roads when he fell in, said Val Gale, assistant chief for the department. Gale said the boy's grandmother saw the fall and was able to pull him out of the pool. When medical officials arrived, the boy had a good heartbeat but needed help breathing through a ventilator, Gale said.
The trial of former Mesa police Officer Philip "Mitch" Brailsford, who is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the on-duty shooting of an unarmed Texas man in January 2016, has been ongoing for the past three weeks in Maricopa County Superior Court. Brailsford, 26, has said he shot Daniel Shaver, 26, because it looked like Shaver was reaching for a weapon while he was on his knees during a confrontation with Mesa police in a hotel hallway.

Exact case matching or punctuation
If you're searching for a brand name or keyword that relies on specific punctuation marks or capitalization, you can

Use parentheses to separate multiple
boolean phrases. For example, to find journalists talking about having fun in Disney World or
Disneyland, search for ("disney world" OR disneyland) AND fun.
An asterisk can be used to search for any variation of a root word truncated by the asterisk. For example, searching for admin* will return results for administrator, administration, administer, administered, etc.
A near operator is an AND operator where you can control the distance between the words. You can vary the distance the near operation uses by adding a forward slash and number (between 0-99) such as strawberries NEAR/10 "whipped cream", which means the strawberries must exist within 10 words of "whipped cream".
