Abstract We study the digital quantum simulation of a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian derived using the thermofield dynamics (TFD) approach. The Hamiltonian is mapped to qubit operators through the Bravyi–Kitaev transformation, and its time evolution is approximated using Suzuki–Trotter decompositions of increasing order. Explicit quantum circuits are constructed and benchmarked against exact evolution.
