1. Introduction The skin lesions in patients with focal dermal hypoplasia (Goltz syndrome) are characteristic (OMIM#305600). Focal dermal hypoplasia is inherited in an X-linked dominant pattern. It is well known that it is a lethal syndrome in males. The features include atrophy and linear pigmentation of the skin, herniation, and multiple papillomas around the mouth and in the mucous membranes or skin. In addition, upper and lower limb anomalies consist of a variable malformation complex.
