Abstract Introduction: The objective of this study was to evaluate the tolerability and efficacy at 3 months of intravenous (IV) allogeneic uterine-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (UMSCs) for osteoarthritis (OA) in client-owned cats. Methods: This was a randomized, masked, placebo-controlled pilot study conducted across six veterinary clinics.

How can allogeneic stem cell therapy treat cats with refractory feline chronic gingivostomatitis, and what does this mean for the future of veterinary practice? The development and regulatory approval of stem cells for human applications has largely outpaced that of veterinary medicine due to the unmet medical need for therapies that target underlying disease pathology, not just the clinical signs. Yet we are hearing a growing demand that pets receive and deserve a human standard of care.

The national conversation is rife with pollution Two or three times a week I am forced to read a few internet articles. Some because they are substantive issues that I am interested in, and others out of mere curiosity and to keep myself informed and aware of what’s happening around me. Along with the articles, I generally review people’s response to these articles. I find it informative and it gives me a pretty good insight into how a part of the population thinks.
