Connectivity as a universal predictor of tau progression in atypical Alzheimer’s disease
The link between regional tau load and clinical manifestation of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) highlights the importance of characterizing spatial tau distribution across disease variants. In typical (memory-predominant) AD, the spatial progression of tau pathology mirrors the functional connections from temporal lobe epicenters.

Assessment of the relationship between synaptic density and metabotropic glutamate receptors in early Alzheimer’s disease: a multi-tracer PET study - Alzheimer's Research & Therapy
Abstract The pathological effects of amyloid β oligomers (Aβo) may be mediated through the metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype 5 (mGluR5), leading to synaptic loss in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Positron emission tomography (PET) studies of mGluR5 using [18F]FPEB indicate a reduction of receptor binding that is focused in the medial temporal lobe in AD.
Data from: Skyglow and especially direct streetlight pollution alter moth communities
Published April 1, 2025 | Version v1 Software Open Light pollution caused by artificial light at night (ALAN) affects biodiversity worldwide and is still increasing. Species vary in their response to ALAN, but the impact on communities remains poorly understood. Effects of indirect light pollution by skyglow and direct streetlight pollution on communities have usually been addressed separately, and in most studies so far, urbanisation levels are a confounding factor for ALAN effects per se.

Data from: Evolutionary change in flight-to-light response in urban moths comes with changes in wing morphology
Published March 19, 2024 | Version v1 Dataset Open Moths and other insects are attracted by artificial light sources. This flight-to-light behaviour disrupts their general activity focused on finding essential habitat resources, such as mating partners, and increases predation risk. It thus has substantial fitness costs. In illuminated urban areas, spindle ermine moths Yponomeuta cagnagella were reported to have evolved a reduced flight-to-light response.

Localization of PDE4D, HCN1 channels, and mGluR3 in rhesus macaque entorhinal cortex may confer vulnerability in Alzheimer’s disease
Neurofibrillary tangle pathology in the cortex of patients with sporadic AD arises earliest in the rhinal cortices, especially distinct in stellate cells of the layer II entorhinal cortex (ERC) cell clusters (Hyman et al. 1986; Braak and Braak 1991, 1992; Braak and Del Trecidi 2015; Braak and Del Tredici 2015; Kaufman et al. 2018). Tau pathology can be seen initiating in these neurons even in young adults, with tangles appearing even in middle age (Braak and Del Tredici 2015; Liu and Li 2019).

A new microfluidic model to study dendritic remodeling and mitochondrial dynamics during axonal regeneration of adult zebrafish retinal neurons
1. Introduction Neurodegenerative diseases or brain trauma often result in irreversible impairments in the adult mammalian central nervous system (CNS), as damaged neurons cannot be repaired or replaced, and the few surviving neurons fail to regrow their axons beyond the injury site (Fawcett, 2020; Otsuki and Brand, 2020; Varadarajan et al., 2022).

The more severe the merrier: Severity of error consequences stimulates learning from error
Abstract Errors at work can lead to learning but little is known about error attributes and person attributes that make learning more or less likely. This research tested the role of severity of error consequences (error attribute) and trait negative affectivity (person attribute) for learning from error. In two experimental vignette studies, participants responded to written error scenarios that typically happen to university students (Study 1, N = 216) or to employees at work (Study 2, N = 121).
