Have you ever used a typewriter?
For one job, but not as a journalist. In a legal office it was the only way to they had to write a certain type of envelope label.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email - or social media - but preferably email. Good to have a message to refer back to when following up.
Why did you become a journalist?
To pay the bills as a writer while I wrote the great American novel -then fell in love with writing a different kind of story.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Start early - stories can always sneak up on you but try to give yourself as much time as possible to get that interview or article done.
