Currently a freelance reporter. An active correspondent in local news since 2013, I am comfortable both following up with news assignments from an editor and pitching my feature stories independently. I have been molded by my freelance experience before and at the onset of the pandemic when community activism was key to highlight and resulting response from town and city administrations.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

For one job, but not as a journalist. In a legal office it was the only way to they had to write a certain type of envelope label.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Email - or social media - but preferably email. Good to have a message to refer back to when following up.

Why did you become a journalist?

To pay the bills as a writer while I wrote the great American novel -then fell in love with writing a different kind of story.
