1 Introduction Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has emerged as a minimally invasive modality for cancer treatment which uses three main components: light, photo-active component called photosensitizer (PS), and reactive oxygen species (ROS). Upon irradiation by specific wavelength light, PS generates ROS, which are cytotoxic in nature and can selectively kill the cancer cells and tissues through different mechanisms [1].
