New Zealand's 'anti-China' Foreign Minister visits China on charm offensive

New Zealand's Foreign Minister Winston Peters has spent the weekend in China, where he met with top-ranked Chinese officials, and pencilled in further high-level exchanges for the near future. He held a "formal meeting and working lunch" with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, who Foreign Minister Julie Bishop also met with earlier in the week. However that chat was "not a formal bilateral meeting" — a fact Mr Wang reportedly pointed out to Ms Bishop, according to China's account of the discussion.
