Abstract Native mass spectrometry has become a key method for studying macromolecular assemblies, providing insights into structures, stoichiometries, and binding interactions. A key aspect for the transmission of electrospray-generated bioparticles into the mass analyzer is the use of gas for collisional cooling and ion desolvation.

These in-their-own-words pieces are told to Patricia Lane and co-edited with input from the interviewee for the purpose of brevity. Victor Yin shows people they are not alone in their grief and mourning over the climate. With his co-facilitator Christina Joy, the 25-year-old from Montreal hosts “Climate Death Cafés” to create safe spaces for these conversations. Victor is a 2026 Starfish Canada Climate75 Fellow. Recombinant adeno-associated viruses (rAAVs) are extensively used for gene therapy due to their favorable properties (e.g., nonpathogenicity, low immunogenicity, broad tropism, and long-term expression). (1−3) The preparation of therapeutic rAAVs is hampered by the unwanted coproduction of empty capsids that do not contain the single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) gene of interest.
