1 INTRODUCTION Uveitis comprises a sight-threatening group of disorders resulting from inflammation in the uveal tract, which includes the iris, ciliary body, choroid and associated ocular structures. In the Western World, uveitis is a common cause of blindness (Ghadiri et al., 2023; Xue et al., 2023). The pathogenic mechanisms underlying uveitis are heterogeneous, but uveitis is broadly categorized as either infectious or non-infectious uveitis (NIU).
