Avenger Seawolf and new ride...
#1 · Hello All, I am pleased to share that I recently had the pleasure to acquire a used Avenger Seawolf Titanium 3000m from a very fine gentleman (@CitizenPromaster ) he was super nice to deal with and I can't recommend him enough. Great communication, took pains to point ourlt shortcomings, very... 192.4Kcountingseconds replied Dec 14, 2024 My Breitling Avenger Seawolf 3000M just arrived and she's a BBB. Big Beautiful Babe. First sold by Harrods of London in 2012. She just needs a bit of a clean.
Seiko Prospex Marinemaster 1968 Heritage Diver’s Watch HBF001
Seiko Prospex Marinemaster 1968 Heritage Diver’s Watch HBF001Does anyone know if this is the new version of the 300M Marinemaster for regular production or is it a limited edition model?
The other day I noticed the the 'Pip' on the bezel of my Breitling Avenger Seawolf was not there. That had never happened to me before and I was suprised. At first I figured I would just mix up some epoxy with some photolume powder that I have and squish it in there. Then I thought well it would be better to buy one from Breitling, but I bet they would say you have to buy the whole bezel ring for like $500, so screw that idea.
Breitling spare parts replacement
A few months back I bought a Breitling Avenger Seawolf Titanium model from about 2009. I had bought one new around 2005 or so and regretted letting it go a few years later. So when I found a nice one in good condition from a reputable seller and very importantly that it had enough links in the Pro1 bracelet I jumped on it. When it arrived I noticed that the wet suit extention was broken and would not snap shut.
Service time for my Seadweller 43mm
I decided that it was service time for my Seadweller 43mm, so I took it in yesterday. My local A dealer does complete service on Rolex in house so I decided to give them a try. In the past I have always sent my Rolex watches to the NYC Rolex Service Center, but the Local AD has put a very nice service shop in their store with a dedicated Rolex trained Technician.
My favorite dial on any watch
I bought this Breitling Avenger B01 Chronograph a few years ago and the more I look at the dial the more I like it. From the inset subdials, the raised hour markers, to the applied Breitling wings this thing is a work of beauty. The colors, the design and the layout are just great. I have a hard time getting closeups to show the details well, but here are a couple that I took today.
My two Breitlings.
These are the two Breitlings that I currently own. I have owned a couple of others over the years, but these are keepers now. My first Breitling was an Avenger Seawolf like the one here, but I sold it years ago and have regretted it since. I was lucky enough to find this one in good condition with enough links and it had the whole kit, box, papers, hang tag, etc. I have owned the Avenger Chronograph for a few years and I bought it because of the B01 movement.
New (to me) Dive watch today
Just in 2004 Breitling Avenger Seawolf Titanium. Great shape and decent price. I owned one back in the mid 2000's and let it go, but missed i, so....
New (to me) Breitling in today
I just got this Avenger Seawolf Titanium in and I really like it. I had the same watch back in the early 2000's and foolishly sold it. They are great tough watches and I missed it since I sold mine. I found this one in very good condition and it had enough links to fit my 8.25" wrist, and the price was reasonable. It also had all the boxes and papers. I will probably send it to Breitling for an overhaul but it seems to be running well so far.
Seiko Boutique, Barcelona, Spain
I went to the Seiko Boutique in Barcelona, Spain with great hopes for a huge selection and was unfortunately underwhelmed. It was a nice enough store but small. They had a nice selection but not that many pieces. There is a better selection here in my hometown at a local jeweler. And the prices were significantly higher in the Boutique.

I have a few watches that have Titanium cases and or Bracelets, and I was thinking about how much each weighed. So here is the answer to my Ti watch collection. Do you have other Titanium watch models and what do they weigh? The lightest one that I have is this Citizen Dress model on an Alligator strap, which weighs in at 61 grams. Next is the Rolex Yachtmaster 42mm, which has one extra bracelet link installed and weighs in at 109 grams. Third in line is my Maratac 200M Diver, weighs in at 121 grams.
How do you store your watches?
Do you throw them in a drawer, put them on a winder, stick them under the mattress, willy nilly all over the place? What do you have to put them in, on or around or do you have the KangaKaddy from Pulp Fiction? KangaKaddy1920×2129 267 KB I had my watches in several smaller boxes and it was kind or a pain to swap them out. I sold about 8 watches and am now done selling, I think. So with fewer watches I decided to try to get them mostly in one place.
$1,700.00 Canonsburg, Pennsylvania FOR SALE - Baume & Mercier Capeland S XXL model 8319 It is in fine working order, but obviously has been used and has minor swirlies and marks. There are no major scratches or dings on it and it has it’s original boxes and paperwork. I believe it is priced fairly and this is the bottom line. I may consider trades for knives, but only something really special would be considered.

Omega Planet OCean vs DOXA Sharkhunter 750T.... a comparative review
Here is a quick comparative review of my 2 favorite divers that I own. Excuse the pic quality.
I got the call today.....
I am going in to pick it up tomorrow. This is the longest I have waited for a Rolex.

New Titanium Marinemaster 600m 60th Anniversary
#1 · I have been Checking out the SLA081, which is coming out late this summer, and I like it. It has a couple of cool new features, a great 8L45 movement, a monoblock Titanium case, a Ti Bracelet, and a wave pattern dial. So, today I visited a local AD and ordered one. I went to the local AD that had a really nice selection of Seiko and some Omega Watches. Here are some pictures of their Seiko watches.
Why Do You Love Breitling?
Hey! I used to repair watches at a department store, and used to have opinions about certain watch brands. But over the years, those opinions have changed for the better. Why do you like Breitling? What does owning one say about you?
#1 · I got this book yesterday, Submariner - The watch that Unlocked the Deep. It has pictures, stories, reference material, Fans of the Submariner and so much more. 252 Pages in Color and Black & White with information on not only the Sub but the SeaDweller, the Deepsea, etc. I have only been able to go through a small bit of it so far but it is very interesting and detailed. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Rolex Diving watches.
What watch will you wear to the Tiki Bar today?
Haven't touched a drop of ANY "fire water" since 07/28/2019, breaking a L-O-N-G line of Hungarian gypsy alcoholics; not even a sip of beer or wine - Yowzah! Do I miss it? Only when I'm alone or with people... Having said that, I'll be wearing this when I go to the La Croix sparkling water bar; my newly-acquired Precista PRS-50-B; so far running at 0 +/- seconds/day:
Some Ploprofs Discontinued?
I am probably late to realizing this but are the standard Ploprofs not being made any longer. I looks like the Summer Blue Gradient Dial model is the only one on the Omega website. And there is no option for the Shark mesh bracelet. I am glad I got one of the Titanium models recently on the mesh bracelet, which is a lot cooler than the rubber strap.
I got the call from my AD yesterday and ..........
#1 · I have been on the cue for quite a while for the new Yachtmaster 42mm Titanium model, with a second choice of a Deepsea with the Cameron blue fade to black dial. I got an email that they had a Cameron Deepsea for me if I wanted it, so after getting over my initial disappointment that it wasn't the YM42Ti, I decided that it was worth checking out.
How do you guys feel about this watch
Breitling SuperOcean automatic 46 Super Diver Titanium. It reminds me of my old Seawolf in Titanium from about 20 years ago. This watch is huge but it is only about 145 grams. I am not crazy about the minute hand lume marker, but I can see the functionality of it. And the Camo Dial is pretty unique and is growing on me. Would still prefer a solid color like black or yellow for the dial.
Customer Service
#1 · Who in the industry seems to have the best aftersale Customer Service? I have been in Customer Service my entire professional career (almost 30 years in dealerships automotive, motorcycle and construction equipment). So needsless to say customer service plays a huge role in my purchases... Now I have only started collecting with a Luminox Navy Seal, Movado Series 800, Tissot PRC 200 automatic & Glycine Combat Sub automatic. Now for my story...
Omega - 100% Swiss made?
#1 · I ordered some new rubber straps and a buckle for my 1200M Seamaster Ploprof and a partial shipment came in today. This is the buckle in it's original vacuum pack. I thought at the price that these go for it would be Swiss made; I guess not. See less See more
I just gat back from Hawaii
We used to live on the BIg Island of Hawaii but about a year ago relocated back to the Pittsburgh area to be near family. But we still have a lot of friends there and plan to visit the Big Island on a regular basis. So this trip we dove / snorkeled and had nice ocean swims at 'Two Step', Mauna Lani Bay and Anaeho'omalu Bay. For watches, I brought along my Omega Ploprof, Citizen Professional Diver and the Garmin Descent Mk2I.
Rubber strap for Ploprof
About a year and a half ago I purchased a Titanium Plofrof. It is a very unique and cool watch and I really like the Sharkmesh bracelet. However the rubber strap that came with the watch is less than interesting to me. The newest version of the Ploprof Rubber strap is black with a molded pattern that is supposed to look like the Sharkmesh. I think it is kind of plain and I don't plan on using it.
The Citizen VS. Grand Seiko
Indeed. I think Citizen purposely designed their marketing strategy for some reason to hide these from any outside market of Japan, or dissuade overseas buyers from getting their hands on them. For instance, a person who buys "The Citizen" in Japan (and is also a citizen of Japan) can register for the 10 year warrranty that Citizen provides. Outside of Japan? 1 year only. Go to Citizen's international website.
Diving the Florida Keys
I am diving / snorkeling in the Florida keys this week. I will post some pictures hopefully in about a week when I get a chance to go through the videos. So far I am kind of disappointed after living in Hawaii for 6 years this does not compare. I dove the Bahamas and Florida as well as many Caribbean Islands since the late 1960's and early 1970's and I remember it being a lot nicer.I think the last time I was in this area was around 1979. A lot has changed.
Disappointed in new Breitling Avenger models
I have always liked most of the Avenger and Superocean models and I bought one of the B01 Avenger chronographs about two years ago. It is a great watch and I love the style and technical details of it. I havve owned a couple of others over the years but sold them.
Rolex is building new factories......
Rolex is doing everything it can to get a supply to meet the demand. The watch behemoth is opening three temporary production sites in Switzerland to churn out more wrist candy for collectors, as reported by Bloomberg. Construction on the facilities in the canton of Fribourg will begin later this year, with timepieces rolling out as soon as 2025. Rolex is also planning to launch a new $1.1 billion factory nearby in Bulle that is expected to commence production in 2029.
A Submarine Disaster - non watch content
#1 · I have been back on the mainland for almost a year now, but while in Hawaii the previous 6 years I worked as the Lead Diver on the Big Island for a submarine tour company. As many of you know, there was a disastrous fire and hurricane that hit Maui and caused tragic loss of life and untold damage. My heart went out to all of the people on our neighbor island of Maui for their losses.
SOTC - Tier Hierarchy (high diver content)
I sometimes think of my collection in terms of a tier or hierarchy system. It ends up being based mostly on value of the watch but not always, sometimes by brand. Anyway, here are the tiers of my watch collection.
Renewed AD
#1 · 17m ago My Rolex AD has upgraded and renewed their Rolex dealership. They have been a relatively small physically, but well established dealer here in Pittsburgh for a long time. But they have always been a favorite for me and I love to visit them and really like the people that work there.
When, if ever, will Rolex release a carbon Daytona?
#1 · More and more brands, including higher end ones, are making carbon watches. When, if ever, will Rolex do the same? My prediction is that by the end of 2035, Rolex will release a carbon Daytona. I doubt carbon will show up in the other sports models, with titanium recently added to stainless steel and precious metal. Hard to imagine a carbon DJ or OP, let alone the even dressier models.
Swag haul from Omega
#1 · I recently purchased a PloProf from Omega directly and had one minor issue. They needed to replace the bracelet to install the XL model. I had to send them the watch to get that done, but it happened pretty quickly and now it is really nice to wear and fits the way that I want it to. When they told me that I had to send them the watch for the exchange of the bracelet I was initially told that it may take a few weeks to get back to me.

PloProf returned to Omega
#1 · I recently bought a PloProf directly from Omega and when I spoke to them initially they said that they would change out the standard bracelet for the XL model. They did not do that and sent me the watch anyway, withthe standard arrangement of one long section of mesh, two medium and one short. It did not work for meso I contacted them and they agreed to make the switch but I had to send them the watch.
I have not owned an Omega for a while but.....

Just on the que for a couple of Rolex models, let's see what happens.
I recently put myself on the list for a couple of Rolex models. First, a 31mm Datejust TT for my wife and second a Yachtmaster 42mm TI or a Deepsea Cameron for me. I feel like the Datejust won't be too much of a problem but it may take a while for one of the models that I want. I will keep you informed on progress.

Question about the latest Planet Ocean with 8900 Movement
I had an older model of the PO with the 8500 movement, but let it go some time ago. I have been thinking about getting a new model that has the 8900 movement. My question is this; does the 8900 have a quickset date function?
Question on the Seamaster 300 models old and new
Has Omega increased the diameter of the Seamaster 300 winding crown from sometime like 2005 to now? I am looking at pictures of an older model that I used to own and a current SM300 and the newer model seems larger to me? Anyone know for sure?
I I bought a New Omega yesterday!
Joined Aug 7, 2012 · 507 Posts Discussion Starter · #1 · 6 h ago I live in Hawaii on the Big Island of Hawaii and there are no high end watch stores here at all, zero. So my wife had to fly to Honolulu, Oahu for a minor medical procedure (it went very well and she is ok) so I tagged along and went to the Ala Moana Center Mall (the largest outdoor mall in the world, and my feet are sore) to look around. They have every high end designer store and just about every watch brand represented there.
Citizen's Top end Dive watches - I need a new one!
Joined Mar 25, 2008 · 2,625 Posts I have the black version. It’s great. Nice and light given the Ti. Accuracy in my case is good. The strap was super plasticky so I swapped it with a rubber strap. No idea how the bracelet is. Anyways it’s comfy. Light. Flat case back. Nothing sharp or digging into the wrist which is good. I wanted to get the BN7020 but wasn’t sure if I can pull off the thickness. Nice to see it’s wearable on a bracelet with adapters.
