In Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business (MSB), undergraduate clubs are beacons of student life, intended to foster student leadership, professional development and personal growth. Unfortunately, failures of the very body designed to support these clubs cause them to fall short of their potential. The McDonough Student Advisory Board (MSAB) oversees the funding, training and support for all undergraduate clubs housed within the MSB.

Le Diplomate is a bustling high-end spot, consistently making lists of the District’s top restaurants. The popular Logan Circle restaurant brings in about $26.7 million in revenue a year—but workers say that success doesn’t come through in the ways they’re treated and paid. So, Le Diplomate is among five high-end D.C. restaurants where workers launched a unionization effort last month.

Restaurants across the country and in D.C. closed on Monday, Feb. 3 as part of the ‘Day Without Immigrants’ protest. The nationwide protest sprung up from social media campaigns reacting to Trump’s Jan. 23 executive order contesting birthright citizenship, among other anti-immigration policies. Local D.C. organizers supported the protest, urging immigrants who were able to participate to stay home from work, school, and shopping.
