Discussion Following the International Olympic Committee consensus statement on mental health in elite athletes 2026,4 and based on scientific and anecdotal reflections on its first version, we developed the IOC SMHAT2 to assess and manage mental health symptoms and disorders in elite athletes throughout their sporting career.
