1 Introduction Tonsillectomy is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures in otolaryngology and is commonly used to treat recurrent tonsillitis or obstructive sleep apnea. Despite its frequency and surgical advancements, postoperative complications, including pain, haemorrhage, and poor oral intake, remain the main reasons for extended hospital stays and prolonged recovery [1]. The post-tonsillectomy wound-healing process in the tonsillar fossa remains poorly studied.

1 Introduction In 2022, thyroid cancer was ranked seventh among all cancers. The age-standardized rate of thyroid cancer is 9.1, and the incidence of thyroid cancer is rising annually in all areas of the world, especially in Asia [1, 2]. In our hospital, thyroid cancer is also the seventh leading site [3], and papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the majority histopathologic subtype, accounting for about 80%–85% of all thyroid cancer [4, 5].
