Objective It is unclear whether low glycemic index and load diets contribute to weight loss. To synthesize the evidence of the effect of low glycemic index/load (GI/GL) diets on body weight in order to inform clinical practice guidelines, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials. Methods We searched Medline, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library (through June 2 2015).
