Fast-polymerized lubricant and antibacterial hydrogel coatings for medical catheters
Medical catheters [1] are an integral part of modern medicine and have greatly improved the quality of treatment and relief of disease [2]. However, most catheters are made of hydrophobic polymer materials [3], [4], which can cause inappropriate friction with human tissues. Therefore, the outer surface of the catheter must be adequately lubricated to avoid tissue friction.
Think about the meaning of the flag
Parson to Person By now the echos of the reports from fireworks have quietened down and the smell of exploded gunpowder and the trails of smoke have died down. The 4th of July has come and gone and now we continue on with our year. If you think back to your history classes in high school, what was our independence supposed to accomplish? As I was driving around observing the various ways communities celebrated our independence, I saw avenues of flags or red, white, and blue.
What do you want?
One of the central concepts of Christianity is that, though humans are doomed to death because of sin, this doom is not the last word. On coming to an understanding of God, believers find a word that is beyond doom and death and one that is in fact hope and life. God overrules doom and death with love. Sin means separation from God who is life. Just as these bodies will quit one day, so will life end if we are not connected to the giver of life.
Father Connections
Parson to Person Few things are as impactful in our lives as fathers. The type of Father we had determines the image we develop regarding our Heavenly Father, whether good or bad.

A Hay Trolley (by golly) Swap Meet
I baled hay once as a teen where the farmer used a hay trolley to lift and convey the bales into the barn instead of an elevator. It worked pretty slick. The farmer used a little Ford tractor to pull the bales up, instead of a team of horses, but everything else was the same as turn-of-the-century hay conveying. The farmer had us teens in the barn stacking bales. He was adamant about us not standing under the bales before they dropped, about eight at a time. Good advice.

Colliding Communities, Cloud Native, and Telecommunications Standards
Key Takeaways Cloud native standards, such as the OpenMetrics standard, are bottom up, driven by the ecosystem and competing open projects, instead of being driven by top-down standards bodies, such as traditional telecommunications RFCs or vendor-driven groups. There is no centralized kingmaker in the cloud native ecosystem. Ease of use, utility, and openness create traction for a standard while keeping vendor influence to a minimum.

A Break From the Past, Why CNFs Must Move Beyond the NFV Mentality : @VMblog
By Jeffrey Saelens - Principal Engineer and W. Watson, Principal Consultant, Vulk Coop Introduction What does ideology mean? The common pejorative use of the term for another person's ideology is "that which is wrong". Other definitions of ideology are better characterized as ideas that suppress from the top "a rational system of ideas to oppose the irrational impulses of the mob" to ideas that erupt from the bottom "fantasies that hide inconvenient truths" [1].

Resolution of acyclovir-associated neurotoxicity with the aid of improved clearance estimates using a Bayesian approach: A case report and review of the literature - Watson - 2017 - Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics - Wiley Online Library
A 62-year-old male with the diagnosis of disseminated zoster was being treated with intravenous (IV) acyclovir when he developed symptoms of acute neurotoxicity. Acyclovir had been dose-adjusted for renal dysfunction according to traditional creatinine clearance estimates; however, as the patient was also on vancomycin, Bayesian estimates of vancomycin clearances were performed, which revealed a 2-fold lower creatinine clearance.
Collapse and recovery of forage fish populations prior to commercial exploitation
We use a new, well-calibrated 500-year paleorecord off southern California to determine collapse frequency, cross-correlation, persistence and return times of exploited forage fish populations. The paleorecord shows that “collapse” (defined as <10% of the mean peak biomass) is a normal state repeatedly experienced by northern anchovy, Pacific hake and Pacific sardine which were collapsed 29 ? 40% of the time, prior to commercial fishing exploitation.
