Abstract Quantitatively assessing mortality post coral bleaching at scale is inherently difficult, yet can be achieved with georeferenced imagery from aerial drones. Here, we assess the coral bleaching mortality rate from the 2024 global bleaching event at the iconic Lizard Island, Australia.

Exposure to natural spaces has long been associated with positive health outcomes (Bowler et al., 2010). In recent years, increasing effort has been allocated to understanding whether outdoor water environments can be used for the promotion of physical and mental health and wellbeing.
