1 INTRODUCTION Since their discovery nearly 30 years ago, IL-17s have been mainly considered as proinflammatory cytokines and shown to play an essential role in the pathogenesis of chronic autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis and ankylosing spondylitis.1, 2 Therefore, drugs targeting IL-17 (e.g. secukinumab) or the IL-17 receptors (e.g. brodalumab) have wide applications in clinic for the treatment of these diseases.
