Solvothermal Degradation and Reuse of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Vinyl Ester Resin Composites
ABSTRACT: Carbon fiber reinforced vinyl ester resin composites (CF/VER) are widely used yet hard to degrade. In our research described in this paper, CF/VER was degraded by l-propanol and potassium hydroxide through a facile solvothermal method at 180-230 °C for 60-140 min. The degradation degree of the resin (Dr) increased notably with increasing reaction time and reaction temperature, and it reached 97.7% after reaction at 230 °C for 120 min.
