Product appearance sensory evaluation model using Qualia Theory and AHP for Chaozhou woodcarving crafts

Abstract This study proposes an integrated operational framework fusing Qualia Theory and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to address subjective ambiguities in modernizing Chaozhou woodcarving crafts. Leveraging multi-source data—including 9784 scraped e-commerce reviews (2699 validated samples), expert interviews, and user questionnaires—we identified a five-dimensional criterion layer (Delicacy, Engineering, Creativity, Charm, Aesthetic Appeal) with 15 sub-indicators.
